FireTempMail started from a personal frustration. I was signing up for a free trial — I don't even remember which service — and within 48 hours my inbox had 11 marketing emails from brands I'd never heard of. My email had been sold. That was 2024.
I built the first version of FireTempMail in a weekend. It was simple: generate a random address, show the inbox, done. I shared it in a privacy-focused forum and got 200 visitors in 24 hours. That told me this wasn't just my problem. Today FireTempMail gets over 4,000 visitors a month from 50+ countries — students, developers, journalists, researchers, and everyday people who just want to sign up for something without the consequences.
When you open FireTempMail, you get a working email address instantly — no account, no form, no phone number. That address lives for 10-60 minutes. Any email sent to it shows up in your browser in real time. When you close the tab, the email and everything in it is gone permanently. We don't store it, sell it, or keep logs.
Our GSC data is public in a sense — Nigeria is our #1 country by traffic, followed by the US, India, Brazil, and Bangladesh. The use cases vary: Nigerian students using .edu email generators for student discounts, US developers testing registration flows, Indian users avoiding aggressive spam from local e-commerce platforms. The common thread is the same everywhere: people want to use the internet without giving away their permanent identity.

FireTempMail runs entirely on Cloudflare's edge network. There's no traditional server. Emails are stored in KV with a TTL — they auto-expire. This makes it fast everywhere in the world (sub-100ms typically) and means there's no central database to breach.
The UI is a SvelteKit app deployed on Cloudflare Pages. It's lightweight, loads fast on mobile (where 59% of our traffic comes from), and works without JavaScript for basic rendering.
We use Google Search Console for SEO data only — that's the Search Console data you don't have to opt into anyway. We don't run Google Analytics or any user-tracking pixels. The irony of a privacy service running behavioral analytics would not be lost on us.
FireTempMail is free and intends to stay free. We're exploring ethical monetization — display ads that don't track users, API access for developers. We'll be transparent when that changes.
The roadmap includes: more email domains (we add new ones regularly as platforms update their blocklists), a browser extension, an API for developers who want to test email flows programmatically, and better support for the languages our users actually speak — Arabic, Bengali, and Indonesian are the biggest gaps right now.
